If you haven’t already seen it everywhere today, here it is: August 12, 2026 is a monumental day in the sky. We have a total solar eclipse, a six-planet parade, and a meteor shower, all happening within about 24 hours of each other. That doesn’t happen often, so let’s talk about what it means energetically, and what it means for our real estate market here in the Coachella Valley and High Desert.

◆ The Rarest Sky Day in a Decade ◆

This morning, a total solar eclipse passed through Iceland, Greenland, Spain, and Portugal. We only caught a small piece of it here in the States, but we can still feel the energy of it, that beautiful moment when the sun and moon pass perfectly along one another.

If you’ve never experienced a total solar eclipse, it’s quite something. I got to experience one back in 2017 in Oregon, where I was teaching yoga and sound healing at a music festival. It was an incredible experience, and if you haven’t yet, I’d suggest trying to witness one at least once in this lifetime.

Alongside the eclipse, six planets have lined up in what astrologers call a planetary parade: Mercury, the messenger, Mars, the initiator, Jupiter, the planet of expansion and prosperity, Saturn, the master teacher, Uranus, the creative genius, and Neptune, the dreamer, all in perfect alignment. The sun and moon are both sitting in Leo as well.

And tonight, the Perseid meteor shower peaks, with almost 100 meteors an hour expected. Joshua Tree is known as one of the best places in the country for dark skies, and with this happening under a new moon, the sky tonight will be especially dark. If you want to catch the show and maybe wish upon a star, the best window is around 11:00 PM to 4:30 in the morning.

Three rare events, one day. We won’t see an alignment like this again for another ten years.

◆ Fire Signs, a Fire Horse Year, and Burning Away What No Longer Serves ◆

With so much of today’s energy sitting in Leo, a fire sign, and 2026 being a Fire Horse year in the Chinese zodiac, it makes sense if things have felt a little more intense lately. We’re navigating a major shift in the sky, and there’s a synergy between everything up there and everything down here.

This eclipse is a supercharged new moon, tied to identity, new beginnings, and burning away the ego. It’s the perfect opportunity to release what we’re not taking with us into this next chapter, and to rise from the ashes like the phoenix. Now is the time to embrace the truth of who we are and be unapologetic about it. This is not the time to play small.

At the same time, Leo is the lion, and Leo is the heart. It carries so much courage, but we also have to be careful not to tap too far into ego. We’re being asked to lead with love and compassion, not greed, and not just chase the transaction. That goes for realtors too. We’re here to lead through our communities and to cultivate relationships, and that’s exactly what this market is showing us right now.

This supercharged energy also asks something of us: are we willing to take action? We can plant all the seeds we want, but if we’re not moving, nothing happens. So the real question becomes, are you willing to ask for help? Are you willing to get out of your own way, and out of that lone-wolf mentality, and lean on community instead? That’s what this moment is really about.

◆ Planting Seeds Before the Harvest ◆

As we plant the seeds for this new chapter, it’s worth remembering that because of social media, we’re conditioned to think everything happens instantly, the way things do on the internet. But this doesn’t work that way. We have to plant these seeds and give them time to grow before the harvest season. We can plant them now and watch it unfold over the next few months, or even years.

◆ The North Node Shift Into Aquarius: Moving From “Me” to “We ◆

The North Node and South Node deal with our past and future karma, and right now they’re making a major shift, the South Node moving into Leo, the North Node into Aquarius. Today’s eclipse is the very first one under this new setup. We’re anchoring into what feels like a fifth-dimension Age of Aquarius, and this isn’t about doing it alone or about competition. It’s about collaboration. This is especially important in Coachella Valley Real Estate, as the desert is known for community.

For so long, many of us have been independent, staying in our own lane, hesitant to ask for help. That’s shifting. We’re moving out of competition and into community. And that’s exactly where I want to bring this back to real estate. This market is honing in on community, and it’s the perfect opportunity for a market built on relationships instead of transactions. That’s non-negotiable in today’s world, especially with how much AI is changing everything else. People are craving real human connection more than ever, and as a realtor, that’s what I feel responsible for bringing to the table.

◆ Why the Desert is Calling ◆

While we’ve been talking about Coachella Valley Real Estate, now let’s talk about Joshua Tree for a moment. It’s known as the place to detach and disconnect from the craziness of the world, and having lived there myself for nine years, I can tell you it’s genuinely sacred land. With the national park right down the street, the skies out there are unlike almost anywhere else. Joshua Tree has been certified as a Dark Sky Park since 2017, and because there’s so little light pollution, people plan entire trips out there just to see the stars, something you can’t do in big cities full of buildings and light pollution.

That’s the amazing thing about living in the desert. You come here to heal. You come here to disconnect, and to reconnect with your soul, your divine connection, and the truth of who you are. I think this eclipse, and everything happening in the sky around it, is only going to make the desert more desirable. As technology keeps rising and people feel more overwhelmed and bombarded by it, more of us are going to want to reconnect with nature, and this is exactly the kind of place that offers that.

◆ Divine Timing, and Why We Can’t Rush This ◆

Coachella Valley real estate really works the same way as astrology. There are ebbs and flows. But the bigger thing to understand is that it all comes down to the right listing, the right buyer, the right time, and the right strategy. Real estate cannot be rushed. Let’s just say it as it is.

There’s a time and place for everything, and the key is making sure you’re positioned to sustain the shift that’s happening, not just for you, but for whoever is on the other side of the transaction too, buyer or seller. All parties need to be ready for this transitional shift, so it can actually be sustained and set the foundation for the next chapter they’re calling in.

If something hasn’t landed yet, there may be a kind of divine protection in that. Maybe the price isn’t quite right. Maybe the right buyer hasn’t shown up yet. Or maybe there’s still work to do in closing out and honoring the current chapter before you can fully step into the next one.
